Manchester United go top of the Premier League. Chelsea, Liverpool and Palace all win 3-0 and Arsenal get their first points of the season.
It was all-go on Saturday with eight Premier League games and eight clean sheets on the day. Merseysiders Liverpool and Everton followed that up with wins on Sunday and Monday. League One-ers Housewives Favourite & Chicken and Bacon Sane also keep their 100% runs alive.
Premier League
Six teams finished the weekend within four points of each other and one pairing finished their game all-square. Smash & Grab and FC Santa Barbara held each other to another draw (the last one was 45-45) and only gained one point each from the experience. At the top of the fixture list, All Star Gunners had a huge home win over GoFys with the second-best score of the week. In the next game down, Drafty hit another 50-point score and finally got their first win of the season. League leaders Route 57 and Money Team fell to narrow losses allowing Vanishing Spray and SB Town Baggers to collect their third wins.
Route 57 hold on to top spot with a matchpoints advantage, but are now level on League points again with SB Town and Vanishing Spray who both won this week to hold on to their places too. ASG climb a mighty four places upto fourth with that big win, Drafty are off the bottom and that draw helped FCSB move up one place too.

It’s bogey team week in the Premier League starting this Friday. All five games are offering up some juicy matchups where one team has been far, far more successful than the other when they’ve faced off.
Super Cup Champions Drafty, finally with a win under their belt, will renew their rivalry with the Premier League Champions next weekend. Last time they met, Bigger than Brolin hadn’t beaten Smash & Grab in their previous six meetings. Then, in GW30 last season, BtB managed to simultaneously knock S&G out of the BFFA Cup, at the Semi-Final stage, and beat them in the League 36-33.
The current league leaders, Route 57, were never out of the top two places last season, but see their position threatened this weekend, not only GoFys (whom R57 have beaten on all four occasions so far), but also by the four teams below them too. Former Premier League Champions SB Town Baggers & Vanishing Spray are level on points with R57, and they will be playing the teams in fourth and fifth, who could also topple R57 themselves if they win well this weekend.
Mighty Fine Feeling have been a jinx team to SB Town since Season Three, winning all five of their previous meetings, including a big BFFA Cup match in 2017 when SB Town UAOB were the Cup Holders. Vanishing Spray have also had a lot of bad luck in the past against their next opponents ASG. They lost nine games in a row to ASG, including both legs of a CL QF to the eventual winners. But, like Drafty, they broke the curse last season by winning a 92-62 barnburner in GW26 and winning again 72-34 nine weeks later, and saving their season in the process too.
Finally, the match between The Money Team and FC Santa Barbara has a lot of history as well. They’ve both been in the top flight together since 2017 and they’ve met eighteen times previously. Money have won 13 of those 18 games, drawing once, and have outscored FCSB 792-664. This weekend they wll meet as two teams in the bad place, but both with a chance to spring up into the top half.
Championship
Another draw was played out in the Championship with league leaders AFC Chester holding on for a point while Sporting Wicker Park offered drama aplenty with Lukaku and Aubameyang scoring highly whilst Tanganga saw red, costing SWP the win. Boss were the highest-scoring team in the Championship this week thanks to double-figures from Wilf Zaha and TA-A. They cruised to a very easy three points against a Gloopy Yarbles side that were impacted by absent players.
The Championship’s Ronaldo signed for StilluvQPR to replace Cavani and shored up a squad that struggled for goals with the nine other men that took to the field. Although East Loop United‘s defence had three clean sheets and an assist to take home, their midfield and attack failed to return anything more than two points apiece and it would cost them their third place in the League.
Barons eeked out a two-point win against managerless AC Reykjavik thanks to a pair of assists for both Pogba and Doucoure, plus some stunning heroics from Mendy against the Villa. Finally, Wijnaldum Leviosa ended Web City‘s winning run with four defensive clean sheets, including a pair for Liverpool’s van Dijk and goal-threat Alisson.
AFC Chester missed the opportunity to put clear water between themselves and the following pack, but are now alone at the top, one point above Boss and Webuiltthis City. Wijnaldum, Boss, Barons, Sporting Wicker Park and StilluvQPR all moved up two places each in a big shakeup for the second tier.
Next up:
Last week, AFC Chester were top and StilluvQPR were bottom, but then StilluvQPR hit a 50+ and got their first win of the season. Of course, the league leaders are still unbeaten and have seen off some tough opponents, but can they withstand Ronaldo, Son and Vestergaard on Sunday?
Barons and Webuiltthis City have been riding the rollercoaster together since they both joined in 2016. City have enjoyed slightly better fortunes (W11D1L8) when they have crossed paths, but their last outing made them look shaky and vulnerable. The pair will meet three times in the next three weeks, in the League this coming weekend followed by back-to-back games in the Champions League.
Conversely, Boss and ELU have never met, despite both having been in the last five editions of the League. After having promising campaigns cut short in 2020, they both struggled last time out but meet in the Championship this weekend as promotion hopefuls, albeit early ones. Boss are currently second in the league and licking their lips at the thought of returning to the Premier League, while ELU were third last week and keen to reclaim that back.
Gloopy Yarbles and Sporting Wicker Park are another pair that will meet for the first time this weekend, and both will come into the game, presumably, a man down after both sides collected red cards last time out. Antonio (Gloopy) and Tanganga (SWP) will be suspended for the next match and can return the following week.
Finally, Wijnaldum will be trying to continue their good run of form against an AC Rey side that have fallen down the League recently. But Reykjavik will still put up a fight – they were only one shy of Wijnaldum’s 42 this week just gone. Having started the season with the best score in all four Leagues, there is plenty of potential in the Reykjavik side and they will do plenty more damage in the weeks to come.
League One
As noted at the top of the page, just two teams in the BFFA remain on maximum points – Housewives Favourite and Chicken and Bacon Sane. Both had comfortable wins this week, which has made the table very uncomfortable reading for ATGMessi and Goleta Hotspur. Whilst double-top was enough for C&BS to take three points, it was far too little for Hung Like a Bony as they went down at home against BattleVAR Galactico who had the best score of all this weekend, and set a new personal best with 68! Elsewhere, Banana Swans stole a one-point win away from Cornaballers FC and The El Dude Brothers got a fourth-straight win over Ole’s at the Wheel.
So the top three remain the same, with Ole’s at the Wheel narrowly holding on to third place as BattleVAR finish the gameweek just one matchpoint behind them. Housewives Favourite are now thirty-six straight gameweeks at number one, but Chicken and Bacon Sane continue to threaten to break the streak. BattleVAR climb out of the relegation zone and up to fourth place, leapfrogging their opponents Hung LaB on fantasy points.
Next Up:
Two sides who are getting desperate to climb out of the early relegation field – About to get Messi and Cornballers – top the fixture list this week knowing that the five teams above them are all very catchable. Midtable Banana Swans have the chance to stop the juggernaut that is Housewives Favourite, and will no doubt be cheered on by Chicken and Bacon Sane as they take on high-scoring BattleVAR Galactico. Ole’s at the Wheel and Hung Like a Bony both need a win to regain some lost ground on the top two, but only one can win next week, and a draw would probably feel like a loss to both sides. Finally, The El Dude Bros will meet winless Goleta for the first time next week, and there may not be a better time to face them.
League Two
Sugar Daddies took control of League Two this week with a wonderful score of 59. Outstanding performances for Lukaku and Cancelo were bolstered by sturdy defending from Mendy and Dunk, and the Daddies collected their third straight win. The Globes got their first win of the season after successfully landing Ronaldo on waivers. A ten for Doucoure and clean sheets for Alonso, Chalabah and Semedo gave The Globes enough to get points on the board.
Harambe Hotspur improved on their score for the second time and earned themselves a win at home against rookies Peltier. Although Salah & Alisson were outscored by Trent & Mane, Pogba’s two assists and two bonus points tipped the balance in Harambe’s favour and returned them to winning ways. Elsewhere, Cumberland FC have now strung together three wins in a row and managerless Ardoyne Aardvarks pulled out a win in the final game when Michael Keane scored for Everton in the final match of the gameweek.
That big win and big score for Sugar Daddies rockets them up four spots into first place. Jaysokker’s defeat to The resurgent Globes opened the door for Ardoyne and Cumberland to occupy the top three this evening. Harambe’s second win moves them up the table and the Average team are now back to .500 after losing to the Aardvarks.
Next Up:
Next Friday will see second play third place, both currently on nine points, with a chance to go top with a win. They may not, however, be able to if Sugar Daddies can outscore midtable ATC when they meet for the first time. That said, ATC have been scoring slighty better than the Daddies so far this term. The League’s best scoring team, Jaysokker, will play Peltier; The Globes will face Harambe again next weekend, exactly one season after being knocked out of the Winter Cup by Hotspur, 56-20; and it is Fergi Time’s turn to face the Average Team. FT would have won this fixture in three of the last four gameweeks, so let’s hope they can rediscover that form by Sunday.
