Here we are – heading into the conclusion of the season, at the edge of glory, the grand finale!
Since the last write-up, Everton have been saved from relegation and Chelsea seem to have third place sewn up. But there is still a lot of things to be finalised, and with each position being worth something in the area of a million pounds, it’s all very much worth fighting for.
Obviously, seventh place in the BFFA isn’t worth quite that amount, but promotion is still very sought after, and the competition is as fierce as ever!

Premier League
Champions: Route 57 FC
Runners-Up: Drafty
Relegated: All Star Gunners
Relegated: FC Santa Barbara
Relegated: GoFYS FC
Drafty seal second place; S&G take control of third.
Still heading up the Best-ish table, and adding another seventeen points to it, Drafty clinched second place this week with a four-point win over Vanishing Spray. Their fifth win in a row came courteousy of assists from Digne & McGinn setting up goals in both of Villa’s 1-1 draws this week and Eze who did his bit to increase the fear of relegation in the hearts of the Everton fans. Spray did their bit to slow down Drafty’s run at the prize money with a goals from Kane and Matip, keeping the Spurs & Liverpool pushes going, but Drafty brushed it off and booked themselves into the Champions League too.
Taking a win from the new Champions by just a single point, Smash & Grab moved up a place into third. Ayew prevented S&G’s Mykoloenko picking up a clean sheet, but Mateta’s goal made up for that. Barnes’ penalty prevented Buendia from collecting his CS point, but the Buendia equalised and gave the lead back to S&G too. It was a back-and-forth game between the two, but the foul on Cornet awarded him an assist and Emerson Royal’s clean sheet against Burnley earlier in the week effectively earned Smash the win. hat, and Coleman’s own goal.
It was also a frustrating week for both MFF and Money Team, both chasing third, but both unable to take the full three points from the game. After a game that finished 36-apiece both are still just a win from glory, but also a loss from a very disappointing end to the season. The Money Team go to Vanishing Spray, another team they drew with earlier in the year, needing a win to steal fourth place; third is out of reach without a triple-figure haul. MFF take on GoFys FC again, with the relegated side enjoying a late run of wins (last 3) while Mighty Fine have been inconsistent in the run-in. Finally, Smash & Grab have another run at ASG, a team that they beat in their first three meetings, but lost by 54-52 eight gameweeks ago. If ASG win here, anything could happen.

Boss reclaim top spot, after just one week in second; Wij officially promoted; fourth and final promotion place will go to one of three.
If one were looking at form, you’d see that Boss had lost their previous two, and their lead at the top, whilst Wijnaldum were on a winning streak and trying to hold on to third. Then Boss signed Calvert-Lewin for Iheanacho off the waivers and turned the game around. DCL scored in both of Everton’s games and earned himself five bonus points for his efforts too (efforts that including putting a nipple on Richarlison’s shot against Brentford as it whizzed past Raya. Mateta and McGinn did their bit for Wijnaldum across the double gameweek, but unfortunately it seemed like they were the only ones that did. Wij remain in third and the sensible money says that they stay there, but Barons are also hovering just in case all of Leviosa’s players disappear.
Sporting Wicker Park suffered from a major loss of players with seven players failing to report for action this week, Ben White put the ball into his own net and Martinez & Chambers were unable to keep a clean sheet in either of their two games. While Bruno Guimaraes and Eze did their bit, they were left stunned by the Championship’s score of the week. Pope, Matip, Dier, Zaha and Kane all had great games, but it was Budweiser’s King of the Week James Maddison who shone brightest with an (unnecessary) 25 FPts – 2 goals, 2 assists and 5 BP – and put the game far, far beyond doubt.
The win puts Barons in control of the fourth promotion place, with a sliver of a shot at third, and the fate of Gloopy Yarbles in their hands. Yarbles were held back by another Leicester star this week. Harvey Barnes’ performance away at Vicarage Road changed the game for AFC Chester from an 8-point loss to an 8-point win. This dropped Gloopy down from fourth to sixth, but a 5-point win over rivals Barons this coming week should give them fourth place back again. Should. However…
Enjoying a rich vein of form, Webuiltthis have pulled themselves out of a relegation battle and are somehow now back in with a shot at promotion. However however, their last chance to get points is against league leaders Boss who, as shown below, are playing for the title. Boss and City have been exchanging results all season, but Boss have been scoring at a rate of 6.4 FPts more per week, over 200 FPts across the season. City know that nothing less than a win will do on the final day and both teams have made transfers going into the game. This will be interesting!

Promoted: Chicken & Bane San.
Promoted: Hung Like a Bony
Relegated: Goleta Hotspur
Relegated: Banana Swans
C&BS and Hung promoted to the Championship. Ole’s at the Wheel move up to fourth.
Chicken and Bane & The El Dude Brothers are another pair that have been exchanging blows over the season. This game was possibly the most important of the five and it was a close-run game. Just four points separated the pair but they had strong consequences for both sides. The win means that Chicken hold on to second and will be playing Championship fantasy football next season; El Dude Bros drop down to fifth, but, are not out of the race yet. That extra promotion place means that if they beat relegated Swans this weekend and Ole’s at the Wheel lose to the Champions, then Bros will go up with C&BS!
Ole’s at the Wheel returned to winning ways after losing both of the recent double gameweeks and in doing so, ended About to get Messi’s season; they will finish sixth. It is almost impossible for OatWheel to climb up to third now, so they will be going to the Champions’ field looking for at least point, but all the while looking over their shoulder at the other game. Housewives Favourite have been slipping lately, losing the last three, but they would like to finish the season with a win and have the team to do it. They lost the last game by just five points, 37-32, to Hung Like a Bony who won promotion with that win and (practically) guaranteed prize money too.

League Two
Champions: Atletico Topo Chico
Promoted: Fergi Time
Promoted: Peltier
Peltier claim important win over ATC; Sugar Daddies close the gap to fourth.
It’s in these final moments that managers can make a huge profit for claiming second over third. For example, in this case, it took a monumental effort for Peltier to fight off the attack of the Champions and keep control of their second place. For a very claret-and-blue-heavy team, this wasn’t a particularly easy gameweek, but Digne and Watkins pulled in 18 between them and seemed to be enough to get them over the line. And it was very necessary, despite Peltier’s proficiency over ATC this season (P5,W4), because Fergi Time were, and still are, biting at their heels.
Third-placed Fergi Time, with Maddison (25) and Richarlison (19), were the best that League Two had on offer – and they had to be. They went up against Cup Finalists Jaysokker who were coming on strong and were also very much out for blood (read: three points) themselves. Ever-faithful with their second-round pick – striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin – they hit 60 FPts and forced FT top top that if they wanted to win. Fergi Time did just that and the fight for second will go to the death.
The other battle that will rage until the final whistle is the (newly-invigorated) fight for fourth-place. Cumberland FC, Jaysokker and Sugar Daddies are all in with a shout at the automatic promotion place and they will not want to wait to see if Cornballers finish seventh (which would make L2’s 5th place a promotion place), they will all be fighting for fourth. So, Cumberland host The Globes one last time, looking for a win (played 4, won 2 so far), while Jaysokker and Sugar Daddies face off (both P4, W2 in this fixture this season) in the knowledge that the winner there could go up if The Globes win…! So, if Mighty Fine Feeling occupy a top four place at the end of the season, the space will be given to the available team with the most total matchpoints.

Of course, in the last gameweek league positions and the Best-ish standings will likely change. Watch this space!
