Season 8 – Gameweek 32

The results are in!

Premier League

Route 57 FC hold on to a nine-point lead at the top of the Premier League with six games to go. Their next game is against their closest rivals, World #1: Mighty Fine Feeling, with whom they are 1-1&1 in league meetings this season. Drafty suffered yet another high-scoring defeat but are holding on to a Champions League spot, and just a point off the money. Smash & Grab are now back in the money places with the second-biggest score of the weekend; they play Money Team next with the team in fifth gunning for a win and just a point behind them. SB Town and Vanishing Spray have some breathing room between themselves and the drop zone, but like a pair running from a bear they are playing this week for a little distance and to leave their rivals prone in the ground behind them.

Championship

The five-point cushion that Boss had been enjoying since their 18-17 win over SWP has now been reduced back down to two. Gloopy’s loss and the Barons’ win means that the two swap places and SWP are back within a win of the top spot. While it looks like the top two have promotion in the bag, the next three are fighting over the one remaining promotion place and a share of the prize pool.
At the other end, any two of four could be going down to League One with AC Reykjavik. ELU’s surprise win over the top-of-the-League lifts them back above the red line after an uncomfortable week below and AFC Chester’s 50 against rivals Stillluv keeps them in the fight to survive too.

Champions: Housewives Favourite

Housewives Favourite’s 64th consecutive gameweek at the top of the League saw Banana Swans steal an unlikely win against the Champions and keep their season alive. The four teams below Wives’ Fave are in a heated battle for the other two promotion spots. Hung Like a Bony still have to play all three teams above them, but also two of the bottom three. BattleVAR lost ground on the chasing pack last week, but are still only six ponts from promotion and are the only team with remaining games against all of the bottom three. Even About to get Messi still have a shot at promotion in seventh place, but they will have to pull out all the stops in the final run-in and simple survival might be reward enough.

Promoted: Atletico Topo Chico
Promoted: Fergi Time

With a fourth comfortable win over the Average Team, Fergi Time have been promoted to League One! Three points for ATC keeps them in the driving seat at the top of the league and an eight-point victory for Peltier puts them one point away from promotion too. Next week Peltier face managerless Ardoyne Aardvarks, who got themselves a win against Cumberland this week, Fergi Time face ninth-placed The Globes, and Topo Chico face Cup Semi-Finalists Jaysokker.
