#8 | stilluvQPR | 41 – 24 | Cumberland FC | #17 |
The postponement of the Villa-Newcastle game impacted Cumberland FC by reducing their squad by three. Mings, Grealish and Shelvey were unavailable and will be getting a double gameweek later on in the season. From the remaining twelve, there were four no-shows which left Cumberland with only seven players to face their Championship opponents.
On the other side of the pitch, stilluvQPR only fielded 10 players themselves because Villa’s Douglas Luiz wasn’t replaced by anyone from the bench, which meant that Wijnaldum’s second-half goal against Wolves was not brought into the total. However, it wasn’t needed as Son, Salah and Vestergaard together collected 26 FPts and took stilluvQPR storming into their first Semi-Final.

#1 | Gloopy Yarbles | 32 – 40 | Hung Like a Bony | #4 |
It took two penalties for Hung to break the run of the Best-ish leaders, including a controversial spot-kick for Ings away at the Amex. Calvert-Lewin had put the Yarbles ahead early on in the weekend, just before half-time in the first match, but Kevin de Bruyne set up Raheem Sterling in the second match against Fulham before ‘equalising’ himself from the spot in the 26th minute. Following that, Gloopy took a points lead with assists from Bruno Fernandes and defender Reece James.
Sunday was a reasonably quiet day in this match with few players involved. Patrick van Aanholt assisted Benteke for a Gloopy assist, then Hung countered with a Reguilon clean sheet against Arsenal. Wolverhampton’s 4-0 loss to Champions Liverpool did little to affect the score, then it came down to Brighton vs. Southampton on Monday night.
Both goalkeepers in the final game of the weekend featured here and Gloopy Yarbles needed Mat Ryan to keep a clean sheet in order to force their way in to the Semis. Unfortunately for the League One side, after starting well and scoring first, Brighton were unable to keep their net empty and Danny Ings’ 81st-minute winner put the game to bed. Hung go on to play their League rivals, stilluvQPR, in the next round.

#3 | Housewives Favourite | 54 – 33 | Vanishing Spray FC | #28 |
Selfless Spray may feel like their players were too kind this weekend with four assists and no goals recorded. All four of their assists came in on Saturday; firstly for Richarlison setting up Calvert-Lewin (who scored for two of the losing Quarter-Finalists this week) in the opening game, then two Man United assists countered Soucek’s first half goal for Wives Fave and finally, and perhaps most unfortunately, Mason Mount set up Kurt Zouma for his fourth goal of the season for Chelsea; his second for the Housewives.
The following day was pretty quiet for both sides. Spray had two defenders playing who both conceded and Wives Fave had one, van Aanholt, who also conceded but did assist Benteke in the second half.
The final day saw Ward-Prowse & Ings face Che Adams & new-signing Vestergaard. Both pairs scored ten points for their teams, but unfortunately Vestergaard was left on the bench while Adams played a much more defensive midfield role and didn’t have a shot on target nor a touch inside the box. Ward-Prowse assisted the unclaimed Vestergaard goal and Ings scored the winner from the penalty spot. Housewives Favourites finished the meeting comfortably ahead by twenty-one points.

#6 | RelicFC | 32 – 42 | Fossvogur FC | #37 |
Finally, this match was the Quarter-Final with the highest number of goals scored, and it was the underdogs Fossvogur that netted the majority of the five, taking them through to the Semi-Finals in their first BFFA Cup campaign.
Firstly, Sigurdsson and Tarkowski faced off at Turf Moor; neither player making much of a mark on this game. Immediately after that, Sterling opened the scoring at The Etihad against Fulham. Raheem scored in the fifth minute for Fossvogur and twenty minutes later was awarded the assist for de Bruyne’s penalty too. In the following game, Pogba and Rashford both added to the Fossvogur scoresheet while Soucek’s first-half goal put pay to Relic’s GK clean sheet. Pulisic pulled one back for Relic in the evening game, but Kalvin Phillips’ assist for Bamford’s early goal away at The Bridge put another three points up for the visiting League Two side.
Facing a score of 35 at the end of play on Saturday, there was no coming back for Relic. Son did his best on Sunday afternoon, combining with Kane for a goal and an assist (albeit affecting Tierney’s haul in the process), but Reguilon’s clean sheet moved Fossvogur out of reach and into the next round.
Now the only First Round team still remaining in the tournament, the debutants are just two more wins away from becoming the second team to win the Cup in their rookie year (not including SB Town UAOB in Season 1). The next team in their way, however, are the highest-scoring team of the Final Four – League rivals Housewives Favourite.

Winter Cup Semi-Finals
Gameweek 13
Tuesday 15th – Thursday 17th December
And with that, we are down to the Final Four. All four of these teams are preparing for their first Cup Semi-Final and, consequently, we will be crowning new BFFA Cup Champions on Boxing Day!
We have two Championship teams and two League Two sides in the Semis. Both games feature League rivals which means that – both sides in each match have met in their respective Leagues already, and it also means that we are guaranteed that there will be no duplicate players in either game.
Exciting stuff. And as a nice preview to the Semis, one pair have just played each other in League Two (GW11) and the other fixture will have a dummy run in the Championship this coming weekend (GW12).
(#8) stilluvQPR (Cha.) -v- (#4) Hung Like a Bony (Cha.)
The first Semi-Final this year features two Championship teams that are quickly becoming familiar with each other. They met three times in the Championship last year, they have already met earlier this season and they will now be playing each other twice in within a week!
Next weekend (Gameweek 12, kicking off Friday 11th December), the pair will meet in the League for the second time this season. Last time, in GW3, Hung won all three points with goals from Ings, Mahrez and Wilson, while stilluvQPR fell behind despite goals from Mason Mount and Maupay. Hung (4th in the Championship) still have all three strikers in their line-up at time of writing; stilluvQPR (7th) have kept hold of Mount but have replaced Maupay with the back-in-favour Tammy Abraham.
Hung Like a Bony are also here looking to earn a Grand Slam by knocking out a team from each of the four divisions on their way to winning the Cup. They’ve taken out a Premier League team, a League One side and a League Two side so far; they just need a Championship scalp and a Cup Final victory to complete the set. It happened last year when Smash & Grab beat League One’s Wijnaldum Leviosa in the 2019 Cup Final and if there’s an omen to be had, a potential passing-on-the-baton if you will, it’s that Hung knocked out S&G in the Second Round with the best score of this season’s Cup (thus far).
Keep an eye out for:
Wolves -v- Chelsea
Patricio (GK, Hung) -v- Abraham (F, stilluv)
Man City -v- West Brom
Mahrez (F, Hung) -v- Johnstone (GK, stilluv)
Liverpool -v- Spurs
Salah (F, stilluv) -v- Reguilon (D, Hung)
(#3) Housewives Favourite (Lge 2) -v- (#33) Fossvogur FC (Lge 2)
With nine wins from eleven, Wives Fav remain the top of the Combined Forty and their current hot streak has them five points clear at the top of League Two. Their most recent League win was against their Semi-Final opponents, Fossvogur – a 54-42 victory for the League leaders to add to their 37-18 victory from GW2. Wives Fave scored eight goals against Fossvogur in those two games while Foss only put three away, all in last week’s outing. Danny Ings scored for Housewives Favourites in both matches and will likely feature again in his match away at The Emirates.
This Semi-Final looks like it could be decided by which team has the strongest showing of Manchester players. Of the thirty players from both squads, thirteen play for either City or United and in Gameweek 13 they will be playing the bottom two sides in the Premier League – West Brom and Sheffield United. So, could it be third time lucky for Fossvogur, or will the new #3-ranked team out-gun them again?
Watch out for:
Wolves -v- Chelsea
Zouma (Housewives) -v- Boly (Fossvogur)
Arsenal -v- Southampton
Ings & Ward Prowse (Housewives) -v- Gabriel (Fossvogur)
Also:
Mahrez, Sterling, Walker & Mendy for Fossvogur against West Brom
Torres, Gudogan, Cancelo & Stones for Housewives against West Brom
Pogba, Rashford & de Gea for Fossvogur against Sheffield United
Henderson & Bruno Fernandes for Housewives against Sheffield United
