Premier League
Five weeks in and there’s been a draw. Champions Vanishing Spray tied with Smash & Grab. Bernardo Silva’s yellow card may have cost Spray the win, but then Smash probably had some naughty boys in the side too. Bigger than Brolin had a lucky escape against Reykjavik, who came agonisingly close to getting some points on the board. Boss won the highest-scoring game of the week and leapfrog Money into third. Boss next play All Star Gunners just a week after thrashing them 47-22 in the CL.
Championship
In the Championship this week, AFC Chester and GoFYS enjoyed big wins that move them level on points with Tralfamadore Zoo at the top of the table. Chester are now only four matchpoints behind first place. Second and third play next weekend knowing that a slip-up from the Zoo could open the door to first place. Branwellington’s win over top-of-the-table Zoo lifts them off the bottom and into eighth place. SB Town’s win over Chucky Pad Warriors helps them into the top half and Sporting Wicker Park claim a win as well, despite only getting the second-lowest score in the League.
League One
Route 57 scraped a 1-pt victory over 10-man Bacuna Matata thanks to assists from Robertson and Josh King. They move up one place into fifth. K.H. Granitza Sting go top of the League and Cornballers move up a place into second. Goleta netted four and stilluvQPR scored three goals this week; both got their second win of the season but remain in the bottom half. They play each other next week in a bid to break into the top five.
League Two
There were another couple of near-drawn games in League Two this week. Wijnaldum Leviosa’s single point win moved them up from sixth to fifth and Tiger Tail Retaliation kept their 100% record intact with a two-point win over Sugar Daddies. Yer Man are also 5-0 after beating The Globes. The Globes remain seventh but face Tiger Tail next week. BattleVAR are off the bottom and Harambe move up to fouth at the expense of Gloopy Yarbles.
(Inter)National League
Maintaining their status as possibly the strangest League on the site, the National League is an even mix of three-win and two-win teams. Diego Stamos 7 and Katner FC both had big wins which brought them up to six points. Housewives’ Favourites and Chitown Gooners both lost their advantage and were caught up by Jaysokker, Cumberland and Slab Head.
Next week, Housewives’ Favourite and Jaysokker go head-to-head. One team (if not both) will move off nine points, but the League is still wide-open!
