Season 6 – Gameweek 4 Results

The results are in!

Premier League

They don’t make postcards for being three points clear at the top of the Premier League, but if they did then Mighty Fine Feeling would be buying them wholesale. Of the four teams that were below them on six points, only two also won this week – Smash & Grab and The Money Team both won their third in a row.
Another team that are changing their fortunes – Vanishing Spray – were the topscorers of the week. Now officially back on a winning streak, their 59 matchpoints was more than both teams combined in Money’s and Smash’s low-scoring matches.
Europa League Champions FC Santa Barbara‘s third loss in a row allowed Boss to climb up to joint-fourth place and left FCSB stuck in the relegation zone as the two teams get ready for the Champion’s League draw.

Championship

Another team flying high at the start of the new season are the Best-ish leaders Tralfamadore Zoo. Winning a big match against rivals AFC Chester has set them above the rest and in perfect form going into the break. While Chester remain on nine points, they’re joined by GoFYS and Banana Swans who are now tied in third place for at least a fortnight. They play each other in Gameweek 5 to split the difference.
Finally off the mark this week, Voyageurs cruised past struggling Branwellington for their first win of the season and Sporting Wicker Park scored well enough to lift them from ninth to sixth. Branwellington and SWP will be in the Champion’s League draw on Sunday, alongside the top two AFC Chester and Tralfamadore Zoo. Branwellington (bottom of the League) will have to face Tralfamadore (top) in Gameweek 5 while also playing in the first matchday of the new Champions League.

League One

No-one in League One survived the first four weeks unbeaten. Four teams share the top of the table on nine points; Cabezazo, Cornballers and KHGS are all exactly level on 143 matchpoints!
Cabezazo Increíble were let down by their defence, but Tielemans hit double figures and Schär netted an unlikely goal to help keep their matchpoints up. KH Granitza Sting were similarly unlucky facing Bacuna Matata who came out with the goods from De Bruyne and Abraham to get themselves off the ground.
Nine-man Cornballers beat last week’s topscorers Hung Like a Bony thanks to a big week for the Vardy and Firmino strike duo and will challenge Web City next week for top spot. RelicFC hit the back of the net four times, collecting their first win of the season. They will play Goleta Hotspur next week in a bid to finally get off the bottom.

League Two

The battle of League Two continues as Yer Man saw off rivals Sugar Daddies but slipped down into second place because Tiger Tail Retaliation also won and outscored them. First plays third when we restart in two weeks and Yer Man play The Globes.
The Globes got their first win of the season against Wijnaldum Leviosa, who fell into the bottom half. Stepping over them were Gloopy Yarbles who enjoyed a 22-pt win and Harambe Hotspur climbed upto fifth with a 16-pt win over the winless BattleVAR Galáctico. Gloopy (4th) and Harambe (5th) face each other next week and BattleVAR will play Obi-Wan in a sort of weird sci-fi derby.

National League

Housewives’ Favourite remain top with their third win in a row and now share the lead with only one other – Chitown Gooners – who have also won their last three straight. Ole’s at the Wheel notched an impressive 53, ending a two-game mini losing streak. Jaysokker and Klopps and Robbers also won this week, both moving up to six points, and will face each other in the next Gameweek.
