Premier League
There remains only one team in the top flight with a 100% record – newly-promoted Mighty Fine Feeling. They took away three points from a low-scoring match and left Boss in the bottom-half of the table. Fellow strugglers All Star Gunners will face MFF next. They have also lost their last two but do have triple-figure matchpoints to boast about.
Vanishing Spray FC are off the mark and leave behind AC Reykjavik Cobblehill, pointless, like a chocolate teapot. The Money Team were the best pointscorers of the week but despite their 20-pt win, they can do no better than second place.
Championship
In the Championship there are two teams that are happy with 3-from-3. Next week Tralfamadore Zoo will play AFC Chester in an early top-of-the-table battle. Tralfamadore Zoo are top of the Best-ish table this week and may be secretly starting to prepare for next year’s PL draft.
Sporting Wicker Park and Voyageurs are the unhappy teams staring down at League One, wondering where they’re going to land. However, both have what maybe their best chance for a win with easier games next week against the two teams immediately above them. In the other two games third and fourth play each other, and fifth plays sixth before the international break.
League One
Cabezazo Increíble regain their place at the top after the narrowest of victories over the bottom side RelicFC. Cornballers also scraped a win by one point over the other winless team Bacuna Matata.
K.H. Granitza Sting emerged from the opening weeks as the other main contenders for the title. Their win over Goleta Hotspur maintains their unbeaten record and sets them up nicely for a match against Bacuna Matata on Saturday.
Elsewhere, StilluvQPR have points on the board after thrashing Route 57 FC and Webuiltthis City lost their first game in a 9-goal thriller to the only team in the League this week that performed better – Hung Like A Bony.
League Two
League Two is shaping up to be a very entertaining watch. There are three teams still unbeaten at the end of August and two of them play each other next weekend.
The game of the week saw Wijnaldum beat those Gloopy Yarbles by a single point, meaning that they keep pace with the top three and face bottom side The Globes next week. The Globes themselves were unlucky not to steal a win in a low-scoring match with Sugar Daddies. The Daddies, now second, will have to face the other two unbeaten teams – Yer Man and Tiger Tail Retaliation – in the next two gameweeks.
National League
From the melee of weeks 1 & 2, five teams stepped up to try and make a name for themselves. Housewives’ Favourite stand above it all as top pointscorers, but it could have been so very different if Klopps and Robbers had managed just another two points. K’n’R will be have a challenging match next week against Cumberland FC who thrashed Katner FC this week to go fourth.
Chi Spurs and Chitown Gooners both comfortably won their matches and Slab Head FC narrowly beat struggling Jaysokker to make up the lead group.
