“A problem delayed is a problem denied.”

– Dr. James Wilson, House M.D.

Busy, busy times. Liverpool in Qatar, Arteta in talks with Arsenal and Watford in search of a new start. What does this all mean for us? A whole lot of change is on the way, that’s what.

“A lovely thing about Christmas is that it’s compulsory, like a thunderstorm, and we all go through it together.”

Premier League

It was a good week for FC Santa Barbara and The Money Team in the League as the latter beat Smash & Grab 30-29 to reduce the gap to the top to three; Santa Barbara shy by one. Mighty fine feeling got over their loss to AC Reykjavik last week by beating the second-best scoring team in the PL this week, Bigger than Brolin, by a huge 12 matchpoints. Vanishing Spray beat mid-table Boss to climb up a place, but All Star Gunners also won and created a five-point cushion between themselves and the relegation zone.

Championship

Over the last three weeks, GoFYS and East Loop United have had a lot of success, winning three on the trot. Both beat Branwellington and Sporting Wicker Park in that time. Branwellington, along with Chucky Pad Warriors and SB Town Baggers, are winless in the last three, while Sporting Wicker Park did get a win against League leaders Tralfamadore Zoo. Tralfamadore, who won the Champions League this week, are still top of the League thanks to wins over SB Town and Voyageurs. AFC Chester remain second but are now level on points with GoFYS.

League One

Three clean sheets and a goal for Traore gave stilluvQPR their fourth win in a row and moves them up to fourth place, their highest position so far this season. But there’s still six points between them and the team they beat Hung Like a Bony. Next for stilluvQPR is Web City whom they drew with last time they met, 29-29. Hung LaB in third also drew their match in GW9 when they played against Goleta Hotspur, 32-32, and in that freak week there was also another draw – between KH Granitza Sting and Route 57. R57 this week climbed out of the relegation zone, but now face a four-point gap to sixth and have to play Granitza Sting next. KHGS, who have won 5 of the last 6, are now within reach of top spot after they beat Cabezazo and Cornballers lost to a Vertonghen injury-time winner.

League Two

Harambe Hotspur have nearly completed a big turn around. Just four weeks ago they were nine points off the lead, now, after five straight wins, they are level on points and only ten matchpoints behind. Next week they play Sugar Daddies who they beat convincingly last time (42-22) while Tiger Tail meet BattleVAR Galactico; BattleVAR beat TTR in GW9, 40-28. Yer Man have been slowly climbing up the League over the last three weeks but can’t get any higher before the new year. The best they can hope for is that the top two drop points and make the second half of the season much more interesting.

National League

Housewives’ Favourite have returned to the top of the National League after handing Chi Spurs a second consecutive defeat. Jaysokker beat the (then) top-of-the-League Diego Stamos 7 and climbed up to seventh place. Chitown Gooners and Klopps and Robbers both pulled in vital wins in their quest to escape from the bottom three, but most impressively – Katner jumped back up to third place for the first time since Gameweek 1.
