Season 11 Warm-Up

The build-up to the 2024/25 BFFA Season begins here.

Five weeks until the Draft.
Any day now, Fantasy Premier League will officially open the 24/25 platform and we can register for the season ahead. The exact day that the site will launch is a closely-guarded secret, but when it drops we can start going through the catalog and building our wishlists. The last two years saw the game launch on the 5th of July; that day has already passed (probably because of the summer tournaments) but be prepared to see it arrive any day now.

The fixtures were released last month and the website is pumping out lots of content throughout the off-season. You’ll be able to find a variety of stats and graphics to whet your appetite, expert tips and their cherished strength of schedule ratings, the FDR. Those interested in the prospective FDR’s can click here and, thanks to the Premier League website, the 2024/25 fixtures look like this:

Next Friday we will be publishing the BFFA tournament schedule. There will once again be 36 gameweeks in the regular league season, which ensures exactly four matches against each league opponent, followed by two gameweeks for the postseason. The schedule will lay out the dates for the Champions League, the Intramural League and the BFFA Cup, alongside the international breaks, midweek gameweeks, FA Cup weekends and likely enhanced/reduced gameweeks that will appear later in the season.

As we start thinking about the new season (yes, some of us really are that keen!), you can keep an eye on how your potential signings are doing in the Euros & Copa America using this handy tracker on the Premier League site: https://www.premierleague.com/news/4045510.
And speaking of signings, for a shortcut to the completed Premier League transfers there is a comprehensive list at https://www.premierleague.com/transfers, or for a quick reference to the most recent deals done, I like to use the BBC Football pages.

As last season, we encourage you to register your details as early as possible, especially for those that also play the standard game. When your registration is complete, you’ll get your FPL ID. This number can be useful in the standard format because a low FPL ID will give you an edge should any tiebreakers be needed (e.g. in FPL cup games and league placements). You can expect the update to appear in the next couple of weeks. Most of the recent launches have been midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) and I reckon it will begin shortly after the Euros & Copa America Finals, so my guess is… Wednesday 17th July, but who knows! Last season they led in with a three-day player price reveal, so keep an eye on X (https://twitter.com/OfficialFPL) to see when the promotion gains traction.

Once you’ve registered by building a basic squad (auto-pick is fine) and given yourself a team name (and a nice low FPL ID), we want to see your kit designs for the 2024/25 season. We will be preparing an official kit launch to coincide with Draft Day and we would love to have everyone involved in this game-enhancing feature. Other improvements to the BFFA site are also incoming, so please watch this space and keep checking your emails as Draft Day draws closer.
