The Belyea Memorial Cup

Welcome back to The Belyea Memorial Cup!
“Rewarding Excellence in Its Many Forms”
Everyone is a winner (except one).

In rememberance of a former BFFA manager, fantasy football hero, Liverpool fan, father and friend to many. We are grateful that he was a part of our league and touched so many lives.

The game is simple – if you get the best score of the remaining teams, you escape.
Each week at least one team gets out, sometimes more, because they are excellent!

The Premier League leaders still here?! This late in the season? Okay, you can go, Gloopy Yarbles. Thanks for being a part of it.
Twenty-eight remain.

The Big One

It’s the BFFA Big One. The tried and tested (albeit inferior) traditional form of English Fantasy Football that requires each manager to build a team with a budget of £150 million.
These teams must have no more than three players from the same PL club, excessive transfers are penalised by point deductions, and everyone gets a Haaland (if they want one).

Every team also gets to pick a Captain and there are bonus chips to play across the season. This is a classic-style fantasy league, open to all BFFA managers past and present.

Last season The Big One was won by Prestige Worldwide, a subsidiary of The Premier League’s El Dude Bros, and The One Cup was won by Alleviate the Tedium.

This week’s top scorers:
#1) Smoky Bacon Athletic
79 Fantasy Points
#2) Peltier
78 FPts
#3) Jaysokker
74 FPts
=#4) All Star Gunners
71 FPts
=#4) Gnonto Seed
71 FPts
=#4) CR0 Falcon
71 FPts

On top of hosting a league for the BFFA faithful, we are also involving some unsuspecting stars of the game in our classic league. This week:

We welcome back Freddie Woodman, the Preston North End ‘keeper who was, for some of last season, looking like returning to the Premier League. Unfortunately that didn’t come to pass, and it’s been an up-and-down time of late for the ex-Newcastle player. After three consecutive clean sheets, he has seen the ball cross his line eight times in the past three games, most recently last night by the talented Gabriel Jesus, Ethan Nwaneri and Kai Havertz. PNE are out of the League Cup, Arsenal through to the Quarter-Finals.

Leaving the real-life mud-and-grass aside, the uniquely-named CR0 Falcon played their Wildcard this week and made eight changes. It paid off with a pleasantly above-average 71 FPts this week after Mo Salah and Cole Palmer were signed and immediately brought home ten apiece. They are up to 6th/52 in the Middlesbrough FPL league, now just 17 points off the top. But tonight, here, he tops The Big One by two.
