We go into another international break,
after these eyebrow-raising results…

Premier League

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• The last undefeated team have finally been broken. Gloopy Yarbles were caught out by second-placed Housewives Favourite in a massive six-pointer.
Smash & Grab glean three points out of a barnburner against R57, with nine bonus points hauled in after the final whistle on Sunday. Archer’s goal against Arsenal denied Gabriel a clean sheet and Konsa’s 11 minutes kept Fabian Schär from coming off the bench with a game-winning five.
El Dude Bros move up an impressive three places with a superb score of 56; 36 of which were collected by their back three plus Pickford.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Route 57 FC -v- El Dude Bros
8th -v- 6th
Just looking at their scores this week is enough make eyes widen and mouths water, so this replay of last year’s IML Semi-Final is sure to amaze.

Championship

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• Two teams won by just one point this week in the Championship – GoFysFC and Barons. Barons chose Ederson (0) over Alisson (10), but Saka (16) and Cunha (9) saved their bacon. GoFys got lucky at the final whistle as Gusto (2) came on to replace Onana and turn a 1pt L into a 1pt W.
All Star Gunners looked supreme with Pickford, Collins and Maddison all getting double figures. However, they all scored less than WDB’s Antonio (18). WDB will now be without Fofana for the next match due to his fifth yellow card in as many games.
Preliminary Version are now five points clear after DBT’s narrow loss. We have to ask, on their behalf, who brings off Gabriel Jesus in the 60th minute‽ Ouch.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
All Star Gunners -v- De Bruyne Trousers
2nd -v- 3rd
The first time that DBT face ASG, it will be to decide who gets the slipstream behind Preliminary Version, possibly even to close the gap on them. Strangely, both teams drew 28-apiece with ATC earlier in this set, which was cute, and they’ve each had a turn at the top of the table. It may take a while before either can reclaim that top spot though.

League One

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
SkyPlayer will be disappointed that they scored 76 and somehow didn’t get the highest score of the week, but they did smash the League Two champions and move up to second. And they’ve also replaced themselves as winners of the highest-scoring game of the season (so far).
StillluvQPR win their second game of the season and move off the bottom of the table.
• And of course, with Gloopy Yarbles falling short this week, Alleviate the Tedium become the in-form team in the BFFA. Next week will be tricky though…

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
SkyPlayerInFPL -v- Alleviate the Tedium
2nd -v- 1st
Last season, League Two opened with Alleviate the Tedium hitting an almighty 74 in their first-ever BFFA game, humbling SkyPlayer who achieved only 35. After that however, SkyPlayer won the next three against ATT, and we know how that season finished. They’re the top two going into the next gameweek. If ATT win, they open up a six point advantage over their rivals; if SkyPlayer wins, they go top (unless Peltier come up with something special!)

League Two

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
Sporting KhilMann – Wow! That’s a score that’s going to be incredibly hard to beat. Now League Two’s top pointscorers.
• The top three all won and hold their positions at the top.
• Tino’s Legacy climb above Harambe with a 16-point win. They’ve scored more than second-placed Jaysokker but only have those two wins. Expect to see them climb even higher very soon.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Sporting KhilMaan -v- Jaysokker
4th -v- 2nd
Because who doesn’t want to see a team that just scored 80+ go up against the team in second? I know Shams Army will be keenly awaiting the outcome of this.

The BFFA Dynasty League

Haven’t Jota Clue go clear at the top after overcoming a considerable challenge from tenth-placed Vanishing Spray. For the third time in six weeks, Spray have scored over 110 and lost. This week, they lost with 136¼ and scored more goals than the league leaders (four to one). They’ve taken a beating already this season, their opposition have bagged 884 over the seven weeks – that’s over 150 points more than any other team has had scored against them.

Round 1: Matchday 5 of 6

The Belyea Memorial Cup

Welcome back to The Belyea Memorial Cup!
“Rewarding Excellence in Its Many Forms”
Everyone is a winner (except one).

In rememberance of a former BFFA manager, fantasy football hero, Liverpool fan, father and friend to many. We are grateful that he was a part of our league and touched so many lives.

The game is simple – if you get the best score of the remaining teams, you escape.
Each week at least one team gets out, sometimes more, because they are excellent!

With a superlative 81 (thirteen points better than the previous topscore!) Sporting KhilMaan
leave the tournament amidst confetti, fanfare and rapturous applause.

The Big One

It’s the BFFA Big One. The tried and tested (albeit inferior) traditional form of English Fantasy Football that requires each manager to build a team with a budget of £150 million.
These teams must have no more than three players from the same PL club, excessive transfers are penalised by point deductions, and everyone gets a Haaland (if they want one).

Every team also gets to pick a Captain and there are bonus chips to play across the season. This is a classic-style fantasy league, open to all BFFA managers past and present.

Last season The Big One was won by Prestige Worldwide, a subsidiary of The Premier League’s El Dude Bros, and The One Cup was won by Alleviate the Tedium.

This week’s top scorers:
1) Smoky Bacon Ath.
69 Fantasy Points
2) Never N’Dyioubt
68 FPts
3) Rover Cowley FC
62 FPts
4) Gloopy Yarbles
61 FPts
5) Gnonto Seed
58 FPts

On top of hosting a league for the BFFA faithful, we are also involving some unsuspecting stars of the game in our classic league. This week:

He finally got his first England start tonight after more than five years of keeping the bench warm – Dean Henderson is now a fully fledged England international goalkeeper. England beat Finland 3-1 in Helsinki and Dean managed to keep the ball out for 86 minutes, but conceded a late consolation goal to Cracovia centre-back Arttu Hoskonen, near post from a corner.

deanooo97 hasn’t had much success yet this season though, much like Crystal Palace it has to be said. The Eagle’s #1 is bottom of the CPFC Players and Staff league, but he has however had enough confidence to put himself in every gameweek, and given that he’s played the full 630 minutes so far, you can’t knock him for doing so. He likes to captain Isak and Watkins, who’ve done pretty well for him, but the rest of his team probably need a bit of encouragement as the head down the tunnel!
