Premier League

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
Gloopy‘s clean sweep of Route 57 brings them one step closer to glory. Now guaranteed a top-two place, they are now just a win away from the title. Next up: Vanishing Spray.
Spray complete back-to-back wins and rise two places. They’ve got Champions League in their sights.
HLAB severely hinder mighty Fine’s hopes of getting the title, and simultaneously make a good case for claiming fourth themselves. However, so did El Dude Bros.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Housewives Favourite -v- mighty Fine ► 3rd -v- 2nd
GW6: 30 – 23 // GW15: 61 – 47 // GW24: 59 – 33

😬 The Run-In 🕓🕒🕑🕐
Mighty Fine need a huge run of luck if they’re going to keep their hopes of #1 alive. They need to win all four and hope that Gloopy somehow lose all four. Certainly more pressing is the chase down coming from Housewives Favourite. Konsa, Garcia, Rashford and co are going to go into the double gameweek with not three, but six points at stake. Second place could right down to the wire.

The next two weeks will be incredibly telling for the Premier League, the top six play the top six – Mighty Fine play 3rd & 4th, Wives’ Fave play the top two, El Dude go to 5th & 2nd, HLAB play the teams immediately above and below, and Spray have 1st & 5th. Whoever takes six points from the next two gameweeks, will be looking very pretty when May comes around.

But of course, while blood is being shed amongst the top six, the very competitive remaining four are all within striking distance of that Champions League (qualifier) place. Don’t be surprised if two of those four win both games and go into the penultimate week with renewed momentum and ambition.

Championship

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
Just as in GW14, the top three in the Championship all lost, and this time it was Preliminary Version who took advantage and steal second. That huge win for the former league leaders over the current one puts them in a very good position for promotion, and with the best form in the league the title could soon be theirs.
At the other end of the table, GoFYS flipped WDB the bird and flipped the board. They move up to ninth and postpone relegation for another week.
Bigger than Brolin win the highest-scoring game of the week and improve their position ahead of the IML Qualifiers, but can no longer reach fourth place.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Preliminary Version -v- Barons ► 2nd -v- 5th
GW6: 51 – 27 // GW15: 30 – 24 // GW24: 35 – 66

😬 The Run-In 🕓🕒🕑🕐
It’s promising to be the one of the best run-ins in BFFA Championship history! The top four are separated by just three points, four games to play with three promotion places to play for, and there are three matches between the four. What’s more, Barons still have the potential to get promoted back to the top flight after a one-year hiatus, but they have a difficult fortnight ahead.

At the other end, it looks like curtains for GoFYS FC and Whiskey De Bruyne. The near-impossible task of making it to eighth would require four wins for either, and four straight losses for Uncle Monty. After that, whoever finishes eighth still has to go through a two-game play-off in order to survive.

League One

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
Peltier extend to 10 unbeaten, and are on the brink of glory.
East Loop United register a huge scoe of 71. It lifts them out of the relegation zone for the first time since GW14. Unfortunately, that win spells doom for the bottom two; Goleta and Stillluv are relegated.
A one-point win for Goleta came too late for the doomed League Two champions. It did however create friction at the top of the table. The Phenoms move to within a point of automatic promotion. Next week, 2nd & 3rd play 5th & 4th respectively.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
The Phenoms -v- AFC Chester ► 3rd -v- 4th
GW6: 35 – 14 // GW15: 36 – 45 // GW24: 41 – 53

😬 The Run-In 🕓🕒🕑🕐
Although it’s mathematically possible for The Phenoms to rise above Peltier, I don’t think there’s anyone out there who would back it to happen. They would have to overcome 12 league points and 300 matchpoints. But we can’t announce Peltier’s promotion today. Maybe this time next week, maybe weeks after.

What we are more focused on is the fight for the second promotion place. Realistically, one of four teams could take it; a second would be granted a play-off match postseason. As mentioned above, those four teams are in action against another this coming double gameweek (Sat-Wed), and the winners will feel good about their chances of taking one of those two roads to the Championship. The toughest schedule (of all forty teams) is probably that in front of AFC Chester, who still have to play the top three once more before the regular season is through.

League Two

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
We have two top-scoring teams this week, and they’re both title chasers in L2. Boudi’s Crew, long time favourites for the title, and Tino’s Legacy, who have risen from 10th to 3rd, both won in spectacular style. But…so did Shams Army.
The top three can no longer be caught, so for the rest of the league it’s a fight to compete in the Champions League Qualifier. One of six teams could take it, and Flubbing Yanks & AI-Jiggery-Pokery both moved three points closer this week. They both rose two places and (in case you weren’t aware) meet in the final gameweek.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Tino’s Legacy -v- Shams Army ► 3rd -v- 1st
GW6: 52 – 33 // GW15: 33 – 27 // GW24: 68 – 75

😬 The Run-In 🕓🕒🕑🕐
All eyes are on the top three this weekend. We may see Shams Army get promotion and could possibly see them crowned league champion next Thursday. But, Tino’s Legacy won’t make it easy. They have been TotW two weeks in a row, they have won all of their last six games, and outscored Shams Army throughout March and April. And it should be fiery, last time they met it brought the season’s second-biggest scoreline – 75-68 to the Army. Meanwhile, Boudi’s Crew will be facing AI-JP, against whom they have won only once.

Dynasty League

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
Vanishing Spray put up the fourth-biggest score of the season against a poor Waikauri team who were on the receiving end of it.
To make it worse for the Kiwis, Jaysokker found themselves 1.5 points ahead of the league leaders at full-time when Castagne came off the bench with 13.25, despite losing to 1-0 to Bournemouth.
Peltier get a big win over HJC and Tino’s Legacy earn a victory over a good Wonder Struijk side. Both close the gap on RWB, as did TrevAI not far behind them.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Haven’t Jota Clue -v- Peltier ► 5th -v- 2nd
GW5: 83 – 138.75 // GW14: 139 – 98.75 // GW23: 128.75 – 128

😬 The Run-In 🕕🕔🕓🕒🕑🕐
Well the Dynasty season is far from over. Peltier, Tino and Trev move closer again to #1, and all three will have another shot at taking points off the leaders before the season is through!

The Belyea Memorial Cup

Welcome back to The Belyea Memorial Cup!
“Rewarding Excellence in Its Many Forms”
Everyone is a winner (except one).

In rememberance of a former BFFA manager, fantasy football hero, Liverpool fan, father and friend to many. We are grateful that he was a part of our league and touched so many lives.

The game is simple – if you get the best score of the remaining teams, you escape.
Each week (at least) one team gets out, sometimes more, because they are excellent!

This week another two leave – StillluvQPR and Vanishing Spray both record a very honourable 56 FPts. Just three remain!

Remaining:3 teams
Partey Time FC (37 FPts)
Sporting Wicker Park (28)
Whiskey De Bruyne (36)
(GW32 scores in brackets)

The Big One

It’s the BFFA Big One. The tried and tested (albeit inferior) traditional form of English Fantasy Football
that requires each manager to build a team with a budget of £150 million.
These teams must have no more than three players from the same PL club, excessive transfers are penalised by point deductions, and everyone gets a Haaland (if they want one).
Every team also gets to pick a Captain and there are bonus chips to play across the season.
This is a classic-style fantasy league, open to all BFFA managers past and present.

Last season The Big One was won by Prestige Worldwide, a subsidiary of The Premier League’s El Dude Bros, and The One Cup was won by Alleviate the Tedium.
This season’s One Cup begins Gameweek 34 (Saturday 26th April).
Fixtures will be determined at the end of Gameweek 33.
Some teams will receive a bye in Gameweek 34 based on their score in GW33.

1) Lingardium Weviosa
96 Fantasy Points

2) De Bruyne Trousers
92 FPts

3) HLAB
91 FPts

4) Peltier
88 FPts

5) The Ratty Guard Crew
87 FPts

Postseason

The postseason is now on the horizon, and as we approach it, we will give you more and more details as the landscape takes shape.

The final two weeks of the season will offer every team something to play for. Your final league position (after GW36), and any appearances in the Finals of the CL/IML/Cup, will determine which of these mini-tournaments you can compete in.

What you can see above is that the four League Champions will go into a pool for the bonus Champions of Champions title. They will also face the Champions League winners (Gloopy Yarbles) and the BFFA Cup winners too.

The teams finishing second and third will play in a two-week Runners-Up pool. They will be joined by the CL runners-up, the BFFA Cup runners-up and the IML winners.

Going into next season’s Champions League will be:
⚽ The top three teams from each league,
⚽ The Champions League holders (Gloopy Yarbles)
⚽ The BFFA Cup winners (TBC)
⚽ Plus two more from the Champions League Qualifiers.

The CLQ‘s are set to feature the four fourth-placed teams. They will be paired off into 2x two-legged play-off matches, the winners of which will qualify for the 2025 CL.

The Champions League winners are also going to finish in the top three of the Premier League, therefore we will need a reserve to fill in the gap. The topscoring fourth-placed finisher will automatically be entered into the 2025CL First Round, and a place in the CLQ will go to the highest-scoring team that hasn’t yet qualified. (See the reserve list in the graphic above).

Should the BFFA Cup winners also finish in the top four in their league, then another CLQ place will become available for one of our reservists.

Next season’s Intramural League actually begins in GW37 with the four teams in each league who finish 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. The postseason will have a knockout for each league to put one team through to the Quarter-Finals next season.

And there will be another wooden spoon tournament this season too. The bottom two teams from each league will be put into a pool in GW37; the two lowest-scoring sides will play in a GW38 final where the loser gets the spoon.

Finally, there will also be the excitement of the Playoffs. After GW36, the top two go up and the bottom two go down. The third-best and third-worst of neighbouring leagues will fight across two gameweeks for the right to take the final promotion/survival place. The previous playoff results can be found on the Competitions page.

Hopefully that explains the basics of the postseason. There may be some overlaps in the mini-tourneys, for example – if the CL winners (Gloopy Yarbles) finish in the top four (quite likely), then a reserve will be needed to fill the space in next season’s Champions League Draw. That reserve place will go to the highest-scoring team that hasn’t yet qualified for the Champions League, so keep an eye on the best-ish table towards the end of Gameweek 36 for potential new entrants.

Of course, you won’t need to look at the league tables on the app after GW36, but the Best-ish tournament will rage on until the end of GW38, so keep trading, signing and setting your teams right through to the end.

I think that’s all for now.
Hope you enjoy the rest of the season!
