Premier League

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
Still very tight in the middle of the table, six teams changed places this week. Expect many more re-shuffles in the run-in. Gnonto Seed move up to fourth, their highest position this season, with the week’s top score and with Wives Fave losing, they edge closer to third too.
R57, El D.B. and HLAB all climb a place at the expense of Spray. Route 57, who issued that loss to Vanishing Spray, and HLAB are level on points and will meet this weekend.
El Dude Bros lunge over Spray with an edgy one-point win at home to Housewives Fave. While Wives Fave were reeling form the loss of Haaland, El Dude came from one point behind in the final game with Maddison, who made a simple two for appearing and gave El Dude the win. Murillo was perhaps lucky to get all 3BP, sharing the honour with the highly-praised Elanga, and Jacob Murphy came off the bench with a game-winning assist.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
HLAB -v- Route 57 FC ► 8th -v- 6th
GW4: 34 – 57 // GW13: 36 – 72 // GW22: 35 – 32

Championship

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
A bad week for the top two, but they both remain in place. A good week for IB Lausig and Preliminary Version who gain ground and put distance between themselves and the lower six.
Bigger than Brolin maintain a six-point gap above the relegation zone by convincingly beating the league leaders and officially beginning a win-streak. Uncle Monty continue their campaign to avoid the play-offs by taking another three points off of GoFYS, that’s 4 out of 4 for the League One champions.
Unfortunately for GoFYS, they are now guaranteed to be tied up in a relegation battle for the rest of the season. With six games to go, they can still escape through the play-offs, but can no longer reach seventh.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
De Bruyne Trousers -v- IB Lausig ► 2nd -v- 3rd
GW4: 15 – 39 // GW13: 65 – 33 // GW22: 64 – 67

League One

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
Only one swap of position in League One this week. AFC Chester see off Slots Fired thanks to double-figure scores from Elanga and Rogers. They are now just a point below the play-offs.
Borussia Teeth keep themselves two games clear of the drop zone with a big win over The Phenoms, consequentially putting their promotion hopes in some jeopardy.
Peltier continue to be the in-form team in the BFFA. They are now just one win away from repeating their Grand Slams of Season 8 (yes, they won two that season!) Unfortunately, that next game is against their closest rivals – second-placed Alleviate the Tedium.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Peltier -v- Alleviate the Tedium ► 1st -v- 2nd
GW4: 23 – 39 // GW13: 38 – 29 // GW22: 52 – 62

League Two

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
Shams Army increase their lead at the top of the league with a third win over Partey Time. Robert Sánchez saved the day with a clean sheet in the last game at home to Spurs.
AI-JP and Partey Time lost ground on fourth-placed Jaysokker who now leads the chasing pack alone.
Flubbing Yanks also climb one place with a repeat victory over Boudi’s Crew, thanks to three points off the bench from Wilson and Kilman.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Tino’s Legacy -v- AI-Jiggery-Pokery ► 3rd -v- 6th
GW4: 46 – 51 // GW13: 28 – 25 // GW22: 58 – 56

Dynasty League

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
The streak has come to an end! In-form Vanishing Spray (seven wins from eight) saw off RWB, but were unable to close the gap on fifth because TrevAI came from behind to hand Wonder Struijk a fourth defeat this season.
Peltier also completed a clean sweep, against Waikauri Bay, while Tino’s Legacy prevented HJC from gaining on #1, meaning that Peltier moved back upto 2nd for the first time since GW8 and Tino’s Leg joins them on 54.
Gloopy get back-to-back wins with their inherited team, and will move up a place next week if they can beat the team above this weekend.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Peltier -v- Vanishing Spray ► 2nd -v- 6th
GW4: 80.75 – 119.5 // GW13: 80.75 – 78.75 //
GW22: 93 – 116.5

The Belyea Memorial Cup

Welcome back to The Belyea Memorial Cup!
“Rewarding Excellence in Its Many Forms”
Everyone is a winner (except one).

In rememberance of a former BFFA manager, fantasy football hero, Liverpool fan, father and friend to many. We are grateful that he was a part of our league and touched so many lives.

The game is simple – if you get the best score of the remaining teams, you escape.
Each week at least one team gets out, sometimes more, because they are excellent!

There were two very good scores this week from the remaining group, all terrified of the Belyea. Whiskey De Bruyne a close second with 46 FPts, but were beaten by Enzo Fernandez’s goal & 3BP for East Loop United.
6 remain.

Remaining:6 teams
GoFYSFC (24)
Partey Time FC (23)
Sporting Wicker Park (27)
StillluvQPR (30)
Vanishing Spray FC (34)
Whiskey De Bruyne (46)
(GW30 scores in brackets)

The Big One

It’s the BFFA Big One. The tried and tested (albeit inferior) traditional form of English Fantasy Football
that requires each manager to build a team with a budget of £150 million.

These teams must have no more than three players from the same PL club, excessive transfers are penalised by point deductions, and everyone gets a Haaland (if they want one).

Every team also gets to pick a Captain and there are bonus chips to play across the season.
This is a classic-style fantasy league, open to all BFFA managers past and present.

Last season The Big One was won by Prestige Worldwide, a subsidiary of The Premier League’s El Dude Bros, and The One Cup was won by Alleviate the Tedium.
This season’s One Cup begins Gameweek 34 (Saturday 26th April).

1) Allisson Wonderland (again)
73 Fantasy Points

2) Prestige Worldwide
62 FPts

3) Smoky Bacon Athletic
60 FPts

4) Never N’Dyioubt
57 FPts

=5) De Bruyne Trousers
56 FPts
=5) HLAB
56 FPts

Postseason

The postseason is now on the horizon, and as we approach it, we will give you more and more details as the landscape takes shape.

The final two weeks of the season will offer every team something to play for. Your final league position (after GW36), and any appearances in the Finals of the CL/IML/Cup, will determine which of these mini-tournaments you can compete in.

What you can see above is that the four League Champions will go into a pool for the bonus Champions of Champions title. They will also face the Champions League winners (Gloopy Yarbles) and the BFFA Cup winners too.

The teams finishing second and third will play in a two-week Runners-Up pool. They will be joined by the CL runners-up, the BFFA Cup runners-up and the IML winners.

Going into next season’s Champions League will be:
⚽ The top three teams from each league,
⚽ The Champions League holders (Gloopy Yarbles)
⚽ The BFFA Cup winners (TBC)
⚽ Plus two more from the Champions League Qualifiers.

The CLQ‘s are set to feature the four fourth-placed teams. They will be paired off into 2x two-legged play-off matches, the winners of which will qualify for the 2025 CL.

The Champions League winners are also going to finish in the top three of the Premier League, therefore we will need a reserve to fill in the gap. The topscoring fourth-placed finisher will automatically be entered into the 2025CL First Round, and a place in the CLQ will go to the highest-scoring team that hasn’t yet qualified. (See the reserve list in the graphic above).

Should the BFFA Cup winners also finish in the top four in their league, then another CLQ place will become available for one of our reservists.

Next season’s Intramural League actually begins in GW37 with the four teams in each league who finish 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. The postseason will have a knockout for each league to put one team through to the Quarter-Finals next season.

And there will be another wooden spoon tournament this season too. The bottom two teams from each league will be put into a pool in GW37; the two lowest-scoring sides will play in a GW38 final where the loser gets the spoon.

Finally, there will also be the excitement of the Playoffs. After GW36, the top two go up and the bottom two go down. The third-best and third-worst of neighbouring leagues will fight across two gameweeks for the right to take the final promotion/survival place. The previous playoff results can be found on the Competitions page.

Hopefully that explains the basics of the postseason. There may be some overlaps in the mini-tourneys, for example – if the CL winners (Gloopy Yarbles) finish in the top four (quite likely), then a reserve will be needed to fill the space in next season’s Champions League Draw. That reserve place will go to the highest-scoring team that hasn’t yet qualified for the Champions League, so keep an eye on the best-ish table towards the end of Gameweek 36 for potential new entrants.

Of course, you won’t need to look at the league tables on the app after GW36, but the Best-ish tournament will rage on until the end of GW38, so keep trading, signing and setting your teams right through to the end.

I think that’s all for now.
Hope you enjoy the rest of the season!
