Gameweek 3

Team of the Week:
Housewives Favourite
66 points

Premier League

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
Housewives Favourite – best score in the BFFA this weekend, second green arrow, move into second place and return to the top of the Best-ish rankings.
• Vanishing Spray FC – up three places, but struggling to score points.
• Gloopy Yarbles – three wins from three, clear and alone at the top, now best streak in the BFFA (5 consecutive league wins).

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Gloopy Yarbles -v- mighty Fine – 1st v 4th

Championship

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
De Bruyne Trousers keep their unbeaten run going with a 20-point win in the Derby. KdB did nothing to help this time!
Bigger than Brolin move up three places after handing ATC their first loss of the season.
Preliminary Version came out of a slobberknocker of a match with the win against ASG; over 90 points scored in an otherwise low-scoring gameweek.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Preliminary Version -v- Bigger than Brolin – 3rd v 5th

League One

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• A huge score from Peltier puts them right back into the battles for the league and the Best-ish.
SkyPlayer see their streak broken by a narrow away loss, albeit to a nine-man East Loop United.
Slots Fired flying high, one of only five 100% records remaining and the only one in this league.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Peltier -v- Alleviate the Tedium – 2nd v 4th

League Two

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
Boudi‘s unprecedented form continues in her much-improved sophomore year. Salah and Havertz still over-performing and over-exciting.
Shams Army are also enjoying a change of pace by seeing out August with maximum points from their opening three games.
Match #8,000 may have ended in a disappointing rugby score, but it was enough for Jaysokker to maintain their winning streak and stay in the playoff place going into the international break. Next up: league leaders Boudi’s Crew.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Boudi’s Crew -v- Jaysokker – 1st v 3rd

The Dynasty

Haven’t Jota Clue emerge victorious from the top-of-the-league showdown and stick their flag in the #1 spot. Pelter take all three points from a big 232½-point barnburner.

The Belyea Memorial Cup

Welcome back to The Belyea Memorial Cup!
“Rewarding Excellence in Its Many Forms”
Everyone is a winner (except one).

In rememberance of a former BFFA manager, fantasy football hero, Liverpool fan, father and friend to many. We are grateful that he was a part of our league and touched so many lives.

The game is simple – if you get the best score of the remaining teams, you escape.
Each week at least one team gets out, sometimes more, because they are excellent!

This week:
Amazingly, for the second week in a row, the Belyea topscorer was the topscorer with a score of 66. And once again, Housewives Favourite take an early exit.
35 remain.

The Big One

It’s the BFFA Big One. The tried and tested (albeit inferior) traditional form of English Fantasy Football that requires each manager to build a team with a budget of £150 million.
These teams must have no more than three players from the same PL club, excessive transfers are penalised by point deductions, and everyone gets a Haaland (if they want one).

Every team also gets to pick a Captain and there are bonus chips to play across the season. This is a classic-style fantasy league, open to all BFFA managers past and present.

Last season The Big One was won by Prestige Worldwide, a subsiduary of The Premier League’s El Dude Bros, and The One Cup was won by Alleviate the Tedium.

This week’s top scorers:
1) Whatsa Maatsen You – 89 Fantasy Points
2) Peltier – 88 FPts
=3) Gloopy Yarbles – 87 FPts
=3) Prestige Worldwide – 87 FPts
=5) Allison Wonderland – 84 FPts
=5) Lingardium Weviosa – 84 FPts

On top of hosting a league for the BFFA faithful, we are also involving some unsuspecting stars of the game in our classic league. This week, we pay a flying visit to Kieran Trippier’s Trip FC. Currently, Trips is 6th of 7 in the Magpies league and would be 15th of 24 in The Big One, just ahead of Gnonto Seed with 195FPts. Also note, that he hasn’t picked himself in his squad this season, which is a pretty bad sign for all Trippier owners here…
