Premier League

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• The top three all win, now six points clear of the rest.
Gloopy Yarbles doing an incredible job of staying on top in the Best-ish rankings. Housewives Fave also flexing by bringing on Gabriel Jesus off the bench.
Route 57, once third, then tenth, are now back up to fourth place, albeit six points behind the prize places.

Championship

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• We had a draw and a one-point victory in the Championship this weekend. Lewis Hall gained a bonus point at the end of play when the BPS scores were recalculated. That last-second addition pulled GoFys level with Lausig on 36, and nicked a point.
Bigger than Brolin edged out Whiskey De Bruyne thanks to Mohammed Kudus’ two bonus points for his efforts against Brighton. He nearly got a third too, just a single BPS point shy of Mats Wieffer.
• A great weekend for De Bruyne Trousers. The Wallace & Gromit-inspired team settle down for Christmas Day as league leaders having doubled the score of second-placed ASG. DBT up two in time for the big day 🐧

League One

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• AFC Chester’s mini-streak is ended by TotW Peltier, storming home with a 58-pt victory. 58 FPts, by the way, was more than what 34 of our 40 teams scored in total this gameweek.
Alleviate the Tedium and Slots Fired both repeat their GW8 victories to keep Peltier out of the automatic promotion places.
StillluvQPR win out a nailbiter of a tie against Borussia Teeth. Gabriel Jesus, Trippier and Ramsdale (total 27 FPts) all came off the bench to steal the win away from the team in sixth. Stillluv move up one.

Slots Fired -v- SkyPlayerInFPL
2nd -v- 4th // GW9: 43 – 30

League Two

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
Tino’s Legacy are doing Mr. Asprilla proud with their sixth straight victory in League Two.
• The top two lost; 3rd, 4th and 5th pull up three points closer.
• The bottom two win, close in on the three teams above them. No movement in League Two for the second week running, but expect some changes next week after the turkey settles.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Boudi’s Crew -v- Shams Army
1st -v- 4th // GW9: 47 – 33

Dynasty League

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• The team in tenth get a first season rebrand. Gloopy Yarbles, under new management, came out all guns blazing, as teams with new coaches often do. Third-highest score of the week, but they met Peltier who were just 0.5 points better. One might blame Noussair Mazraoui (-0.5FPts), but a more likely culprit may be the three dispossessions lost by Mitoma in London. Regardless of where the blame lies, Gloopy Yarbles are going to be a powerhouse in Dynasty next year.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:

The Belyea Memorial Cup

Welcome back to The Belyea Memorial Cup!
“Rewarding Excellence in Its Many Forms”
Everyone is a winner (except one).

In rememberance of a former BFFA manager, fantasy football hero, Liverpool fan, father and friend to many. We are grateful that he was a part of our league and touched so many lives.

The game is simple – if you get the best score of the remaining teams, you escape.
Each week at least one team gets out, sometimes more, because they are excellent!

For the third time this season Peltier claim the top score of the week and, yet again, the Belyea gift (the gift that keeps on giving!) goes to the next-best team of the week. This gameweek, League One Champions Uncle Monty take their leave just in time for Christmas.

The Big One

It’s the BFFA Big One. The tried and tested (albeit inferior) traditional form of English Fantasy Football
that requires each manager to build a team with a budget of £150 million.

These teams must have no more than three players from the same PL club, excessive transfers are penalised by point deductions, and everyone gets a Haaland (if they want one).

Every team also gets to pick a Captain and there are bonus chips to play across the season.
This is a classic-style fantasy league, open to all BFFA managers past and present.

Last season The Big One was won by Prestige Worldwide, a subsidiary of The Premier League’s El Dude Bros, and The One Cup was won by Alleviate the Tedium.
