Premier League

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• We predicted Wives Fave v SWP would be the game of the week, partly because Wives Fave won it by just 2 FPts nine weeks ago, partly because it had big implications for the top of the league. The re-match did not disappoint, SWP took the win by ONE, thanks to a single bonus point for both Rashford and Ødegaard.
• We didn’t predict that mighty Fine v Gloopy Yarbles would be game of the week, but it was a barnburner! The incredible Yarbles, on hot form this season, put up 55 and still lost by huge margin. Unbelievable stuff from both teams. 137 total fantasy points, currently tied for most this season.
Route 57 FC & Gnonto Seed both move up three places. The bottom half all separated by just one point, and all are just a win away from fifth (kind of).

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Route 57 FC -v- Gloopy Yarbles
6th -v- 1st // GW5: 35 – 48
The third-best total in the Premier League against the best. These two inter-league finalists will relish the midweek warm-up before the title matches that follow.

Championship

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• The top seven get re-shuffled.
• A new-look top three with De Bruyne Trousers at the top.
Barons crush the league’s topscorers All Star Gunners, move to second.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Barons -v- Atletico Topo Chico
2nd -v- 3rd // GW5: 44 – 44
They were 7th and 4th when the drew in GW4. This weekend, the winner could reach the top for the first time this season.

League One

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• The streak is over for Alleviate The Tedium. Twelve weeks after their last loss, they finally buckle to second-placed Peltier. Now just one point apart.
SkyPlayer record an incredible 84, including 49 from their midfield who all returned double-figures. They take fifth place away from their opponents, The Phenoms.
The Phenoms unlucky not to win with the second-best score in the league. Face third-placed Slot in a couple of days time.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Goleta Hotspur -v- Alleviate the Tedium
8th -v- 1st // GW5: 31 – 62
Intramural League finalists, Goleta, broke a 6-game losing streak and climbed two places. They face the league leaders midweek who are powerful and wounded.

League Two

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
Sporting KhilMann have done it! Nine consecutive wins and no sign of letting up. The only thing between them and the top spot is a single matchpoint!
Boudi’s Crew retake first place with a hard fought win over the previous league leaders Jaysokker.
Sham’s Army move above Jaysokker, play them next; Partey Time step over Flubbing Yanks, also face them on Tuesday.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Shams Army -v- Jaysokker
3rd -v- 4th // GW5: 38 – 34
Level on points, this game is for control of the play-off place. Jaysokker outscored Shams Army this weekend, but couldn’t get the better of Boudi’s Crew again.

The BFFA Dynasty League

For the second week in a row, the second-best score lost to the best, and HJC’s march continues.

The Belyea Memorial Cup

Welcome back to The Belyea Memorial Cup!
“Rewarding Excellence in Its Many Forms”
Everyone is a winner (except one).

In rememberance of a former BFFA manager, fantasy football hero, Liverpool fan, father and friend to many. We are grateful that he was a part of our league and touched so many lives.

The game is simple – if you get the best score of the remaining teams, you escape.
Each week at least one team gets out, sometimes more, because they are excellent!

The top two highest-scoring teams this week were both still in the Belyea at the start of the weekend, in fact 5 of the top 7 were bidding for the exit. Mighty Fine came closest with 82, but they were beaten out by SkyPlayerInFPL with the score of the week. Incredible scoring.

The Big One

It’s the BFFA Big One. The tried and tested (albeit inferior) traditional form of English Fantasy Football that requires each manager to build a team with a budget of £150 million.
These teams must have no more than three players from the same PL club, excessive transfers are penalised by point deductions, and everyone gets a Haaland (if they want one).

Every team also gets to pick a Captain and there are bonus chips to play across the season. This is a classic-style fantasy league, open to all BFFA managers past and present.

Last season The Big One was won by Prestige Worldwide, a subsidiary of The Premier League’s El Dude Bros, and The One Cup was won by Alleviate the Tedium.

1) Kinder Mbuemo
100 Fantasy Points!
2) Allisson Wonderland
82 FPts
3) Peltier
79 FPts
4) Prestige Worldwide
79 FPts
5) De Bruyne Trousers
70 FPts
5) Sporting Wicker Park
70 FPts

On top of hosting a league for the BFFA faithful, we are also involving some unsuspecting stars of the game in our classic league. This week:

This week, Justin Kluivert took the headlines with a hat-trick of penalties away at Molyneux (while yours truly had him sitting #1 on the bench in my Dynasty match), but there was another Bournemouth goal early on in the first half.

Just three minutes after Strand Larsen had equalised for Wolves, Marcus Tavernier slotted the ball forward to Milos Kerkez who buried it for the Cherries. And it’s Tavernier that we’re highlighting here this week, a returnee from last season.

TeamTav featured in the Big One Rivals last season, finishing the season 35th of 42 with 1,973 total points. They finished below all twenty of our Big One teams. This season, he’s faring a bit better – currently 17th in comparison having played himself in every match so far. We applaud that sort of confidence. Go get ’em!
