Season 11 – Gameweek 10

The results are in!

Ten games in.
Experts say this is a good guide of how the Premier League will finish.
Fantasy football however is a completely different kettle of fish…

Team of the Week:
The Phenoms (2nd time)
63 points

Premier League

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• A one-point win inna game between the top two scoring sides deserves a name. In the absence of one at the moment, I’m going to call it an ouchie, because Spray are probably going to be feeling that for a few days to come.
• The top two won again, Gloopy Yarbles shining with nine wins out of ten, and Wives Fave doing enough to track along.
• With the rest of the Premier League very, very close, a win can elevate a team as much four places in a single weekend. Mighty Fine did just that.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Gloopy Yarbles -v- Sporting Wicker Park
4th -v- 1st // GW 2: 25 – 46

Championship

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• The top five teams all won and the bottom five all lost, officially creating a rift between the two halves.
• Somehow, despite losing heavily, IB Lausig moved up one place.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Atletico Topo Chico -v- De Bruyne Trousers
1st -v- 3rd // GW 2: 28 28

League One

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• A six-point gap opens at the top of the league and Alleviate the Tedium look unstoppable. They have just beaten all nine of their opponents in quick succession and rightly hold firm at the top.
The Phenoms with the topscore of the week join the chasing pack.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Peltier -v- Slots Fired
3rd -v- 2nd // GW 2: 51 – 44

League Two

😲 Eye-Catching Stuff:
• Boudi’s Crew are toppled from the top, fall to third.
• BattleVAR collect the best League Two score of the weekend and move up a place to seventh.

🫣 Next Week’s One to Watch:
Sporting KhilMaan -v- Shams Army
1st -v- 4th // GW 2: 47 – 43

The Belyea Memorial Cup

Welcome back to The Belyea Memorial Cup!
“Rewarding Excellence in Its Many Forms”
Everyone is a winner (except one).

In rememberance of a former BFFA manager, fantasy football hero, Liverpool fan, father and friend to many. We are grateful that he was a part of our league and touched so many lives.

The game is simple – if you get the best score of the remaining teams, you escape.
Each week at least one team gets out, sometimes more, because they are excellent!

This week, as The Phenoms and All Star Gunners have already had their days in the sun, it was the third-highest scoring side, Slots Fired, win this week with a tidy 55 fantasy points. That’s 40 points plus Ola Aina!

The Big One

It’s the BFFA Big One. The tried and tested (albeit inferior) traditional form of English Fantasy Football that requires each manager to build a team with a budget of £150 million.
These teams must have no more than three players from the same PL club, excessive transfers are penalised by point deductions, and everyone gets a Haaland (if they want one).

Every team also gets to pick a Captain and there are bonus chips to play across the season. This is a classic-style fantasy league, open to all BFFA managers past and present.

Last season The Big One was won by Prestige Worldwide, a subsidiary of The Premier League’s El Dude Bros, and The One Cup was won by Alleviate the Tedium.

This week’s top scorers:
1) Whatsa Maatsen You
77 Fantasy Points
2) Never N’Dyioubt
64 FPts
3) Rover Cowley FC
63 FPts
=4) Bunsy

On top of hosting a league for the BFFA faithful, we are also involving some unsuspecting stars of the game in our classic league. This week we are bringing in Kalvin ‘Did He Really Get Sent Off For That?’ Phillips. Although the Ipswich midfielder is probably still spitting feathers after seeing red last week, he may be happy with the opportunity to focus more on his fantasy team – Baines on Toast – this weekend.
