It might have seemed like a long time coming, but Sheffield United are now officially promoted to the Premier League. They will be joining Burnley and the current top ten in the Prem who are guaranteed to return next season.
If you believe what you read – “The Blades are back where they belong!” – according to the latest match report. They beat playoff-chasing West Brom 2-0 at Bramall Lane on Wednesday this week with Berge’s sixth goal of the season and right back Ahmedhodzic’s fifth. Topscorers Ndiaye (13) and McBurnie (11) both played but were unable to find net on the promotion-winning evening.
Sheffield United are now guaranteed a return to the Premier League with the second automatic promotion place. Middlesbrough and Luton Town will feature in the Championship Playoffs next month alongside two of eight other remaining potential promotion rivals. Burnley will now be going up as Champions after their 1-0 away win over nearby neighbours Blackburn Rovers.
The Season 10 Draft is rumoured to be Sunday, 6th August, the weekend before the 2023/24 Premier League kicks off. More will of course will be added in the weeks to come. Watch this space for news on the Draft.
