The BFFA Europa League Final

The first Europa League Final was a close affair with the two Premier League teams fighting for a place in next year’s Champions League. FC Santa Barbara began and ended the week in sixth place in the Premier League, the same place they’ve finished both of the last two seasons. Gene’s Unicorn Reserves, who were promoted from the Championship last season, are struggling in the League at the moment despite scoring more matchpoints than the team in fourth.

The two have met twice already this season – Santa Barbara beat the Unicorns convincingly 46-10 in Gameweek 4, but then seven weeks later Robby Hall’s team returned to take the three points with a comfortable 53-37 victory. Two years previous they met in the BFFA Cup where they played out a 37-all draw in the First Round; FC Santa Barbara knocked the Unicorn Reserves out a week later, the game ended 41-28.

The matchup this week had something a lot more important on offer than three League points. Next season the BFFA Champions League will open up a place for the last remaining team in this Europa League, giving them a guaranteed 1-in-16 shot at the big money prize and the glory of the most sought after prize in Fantasy Football!

This season’s Europa League winners are:
