The Champions League has kicked off and we’ve already had a draw.
Results and fixtures below.
Group A
Smash & Grab live up to their name once again taking the win and the top spot right from the off. Peltier take the other three points after a dramatic win over Premier League new boys Barons. Barons had a mixed week, losing here but winning their league match against rivals Route 57. R57 will seek revenge against Barons next weekend while the two winners butt heads at Smash & Grab’s “home stadium”.
Group B
The highest-scoring group in the first round of matches presents us with lots of drama straight from the get-go! A high-scoring draw means that Wives Fave and Fergi Time share second place for the time being, while two better-scoring teams slugged it out for dominance. Hung LaB came out on top; The El Dude Bros have to settle for being the highest-scoring loser this round.
Group C
To rub salt into the wounds of the three teams who lost with scores of over fifty fantasy points this week, Boss (second in the PL tonight) begin their campaign from second place in Group C. Tougher opponents await over the next four matchdays as two teams who did surpass 50FPts – WhK and C&BS – will be jostling them for that QF place. Of those two, We have Kompany are in the driving seat after a 3-point win gave them three very hard-earned group points and the holeshot.
Group D
I’ve already called this the Group of Death so I’m going to run with it. Two 50+ winning scores from the two Premier League teams overpowered the lower-league opposition this week. Those two will play each other again this coming weekend for the right to be top at the midweek break, while Gloopy and ATC will meet for the first time, looking to get off the mark here and perhaps even stealing second place.
