2021 CL – Semi-Finals, First Leg

Down to the Final Four and an all-Championship Final is looking unlikely…

The two Championship teams struggled against strong opposition this weekend as they stood up against the BFFA’s #1 & #3 teams. StilluvQPR and Webuiltthis City, who also happened to be playing each other in the league this week, had mixed quality in both of their teams, but managed to match the score set by Average Team. Reece James opened the scoring for Stilluv with an assist, a clean sheet and a third successive 3xBonus Points, and then ASM also hit double-figures with a goal and an assist in the 3-3 draw at home to Brentford. Apart from that very little happened, with the sole exception of Ronaldo assisting Man U’s only goal away at Vicarage Road.

For the other Championship hopeful, their week played out slightly differently. Nothing of note happened in the first seven games until Ollie Watkins’ 84th-minute goal opened the scoring at Villa Park and kick started Web City’s rise to mediocrity. Mane added another twelve points that evening and then on the Sunday Lucas Moura & Hugo Lloris added nine more. The six saves from the Spurs ‘keeper were just enough to scrape a league draw for yours truly, but 43 fantasy points was still nineteen shy of Mighty Fine Feeling’s best-ever Semi-Final score (in their sixth SF match). A low-scoring second leg would suit MFF and could comfortably take them into a second Champions League Final.
