Three games are well-set up for an exciting return leg in GW11.
One team, however, look like they could give themselves the weekend off.
For the second week in a row, The El Dude Brothers smashed the 70-point mark. This week it was AFC Chester, who hit a perfectly average score, that were the poor unfortunates standing in the way of the juggernauts. It will take a huge effort to turn around that deficit, but with Toney playing for Chester against The Canaries this weekend, who knows what could happen.
The Money Team took the game to StilluvQPR in their first meeting since the Championship side knocked them out of the BFFA Cup, with a 41-40 victory, two years ago. StilluvQPR could’ve won the match, but a VAR check for Konsa’s challenge on Bowen turned his yellow card into red. Luckily for Stillluv though, the thirty-three combined points from Reece James and Ronaldo kept them competitive and makes the return leg very interesting.
Last season’s League One and League Two Champions met for the first time this week and the outcome surprised a few. Housewives’ Favourite have been scoring extremely well this season, averaging ten matchpoints per week more than Web City, but had to settle for a score just a shade above the week’s average. City (who have only once scored better than 43FPts this season) rejoiced in goals from Mane, Watkins, Fornals, and finally Kilman in the final match.
The all-Premier League Quarter Final between GoFys and Mighty Fine Feeling finished with the team second-bottom in the league beating the team second-top. GoFys, who also beat MFF in both legs of their IML QF in 2019, came out on top again here, and beat third-placed SB Town in the league too! The five-point lead nicely sets up another League-and-Cup double-header this coming weekend with GoFys looking for a win that could pull them out of the relegation zone while MFF will hope that three points for them would put them back on top, and through to the Semi-Finals.
