Week Two: Risin’ up to the challenge of our rivals…

MD 2 Results
Group C is all tied up on three points after last week’s losers both won this week. Tralfamadore sits top tonight on match points, with the other three very close behind.
Vanishing Spray got their first win of this campaign at the second go with a two-pointer over the team they tied with only the week before and Cabezazo had a mixed week – they lost by one point in the League, but won by one point here!
Bigger than Brolin and Mighty Fine Feeling are level on points and matchpoints going into the third match. Could we see another Quarter-Final place decided by a tiebreaker?!
Branwellington, Boss and KH Granitza Sting are all doing the business with 8- and 9-point wins this week with varying performances. Branwellington has the fifth-lowest total of the sixteen, but having won both games they are in a great position to progress. KH has a 21-point MP-difference that will be very difficult to overcome if they were to tie on points at the end of the round. Boss is also enjoying a large MP cushion and as the top pointscoring team in the competition right now, they look like current favourites to go all the way!

Gameweek 7
A glut of games this Saturday starts at Bramall Lane with The Blades entertaining Liverpool. The last time this fixture was played in Sheffield it finished 1-1 on the opening day of the 2006/07 season with a goal from Rob Hulse and a Robbie Fowler penalty. Sunday sees Leicester play Newcastle a month and a day after Leicester knocked Newcastle out of the League Cup on penalties and then the Gameweek closes on Monday with Manchester United hosting Arsenal. They played three times last season, each scored five and both teams won one, drew one and lost one.
