Group Tables – Matchday 2

– Group B made a bid to be called the ‘Group of Death’ this season as all four teams finished within three points of each other. Bigo1 recorded a win with a single-point victory; Gloopy Yarbles won by just two.
– AC Reykjavik BC also squeezed a 2-pt win out of RelicFC in the highest-scoring game of the week. Mighty Fine Feeling win at The Mosh Pit to go top of the Group.
– Gene’s Unicorn Reserves put 70 on the board and go top of Group C. They play Tralfamadore Zoo next who also two-from-two.
– PSV top-score in Group D, but it’s Goleta who go top of Group D with their second win. The top two meet this weekend playing for top spot.

Two matches will mirror the League fixtures this weekend. One Premier League game and one Championship game will also double as Champions League matches. Here’s what to look for this week:

Next weekend:
Group A
AC Reykjavik BayCobblers -v- East Loop United FC
Flex your fingers and stretch those calves, these two Premiership giants will face each other three times in the next three weeks. The last time these two sides met, it ended in a 46-46 draw!
Mighty Fine Feeling -v- RelicFC
This weekend the CL Champions face the side that beat them into second place in League One last season. They will play not once, but TWICE! That’s right, fantasy fans, this week MFF and Relic will face off in the League and the CL simultaneously. Both teams were W2L2 head-to-head last season; Relic narrowly outscoring MFF 219-209.

Group B
Bigo1 -v- Smash & Grab
Now this will be a very tasty fixture to watch, ESPN have been calling every night since this was announced. Last season, they met in a League & CL double in Week 8; S’n’G won both games 46-44. This week, they meet in another League & CL double-header!
Gloopy Yarbles -v- Bigger Than Brolin
This pair also have a match this week. The Yarbles are 2-0 in the CL but bottom of League One. Brolin are 2nd in the Premier League but without a point so far in the CL. It’s a question of who wants it more.

Group C
Tralfamadore Zoo FC -v- Gene’s Unicorn Reserves
Tralfamadore aren’t used to losing, but they face a tough challenge at home against Robby Hall’s side. Both have won both of their games thus far; GUR have scored better in the two games.
Vanishing Spray FC -v- All Star Gunners
There is always an underdog story in the Champions League, a late comeback, an unlikely hero. If you’re the type to look for such a story, your best bet might be to start here at the Shopko Parking Lot. Both sides need a win to stay in contention. The only time these two teams have met previously it was a high-scoring game, Spray won 67-57, knocking ASG out of the BFFA Cup in Season Two.

Group D
DC LFC -v- Chucky Pad Warriors
This is another tie with not at lot to separate the teams. Both are 2-4 in the League and there’s only 8 matchpoints between their season totals. Also, co-incidentally, both sides lost 53-40 the last time they played Tralfamadore Zoo! What does that mean here? Well, nothing really, but the Group D teams will play Group C in the next round…there may be a reunion on the cards.
PSV Wide Open -v- Goleta Hotspur
Goleta stole three points from PSV two weeks ago in a League match that finished 39-33. As the Sunday games kicked off, PSV had a one-point lead and three players still to play, Goleta only had Yarmolenko. Yarmolenko racked up 13 points including 2 BP. PSV are looking for revenge this weekend at Sausage Stadium. The winner should finish the week at the top of Group D.

West Ham kick the gameweek off against Manchester United this Saturday and Bournemouth vs. Palace will round it off on Monday night.
