After the first match, only two of the Group winners hold the lead going into the return game. None of the Quarter-Finals are closer than ten points after the first leg but that means nothing in this topsy-turvy game called Fantasy. We also have four of the top five Best-ish teams in the Quarter-Finals and two of them are playing each other. Expect fireworks.
High-scoring Mighty Fine Feeling (#2) scored the best of the Last 8 but will a ten-point lead over their Premier League opponents Bigger Than Brolin (#5) be enough? It’s the top team in the Premier League against the number one team in Championship.
Tralfamadore Zoo have a commanding lead and may not even need to turn up next weekend; they more than doubled PSV‘s efforts at home. Tralfamadore are currently favourites to get promotion to the Championship; PSV may soon be fighting for survival.
Smash & Grab will be thankful that they topped Group B and avoided Mighty Fine Feeling but still have a big deficit to overcome. Last week Rey.B.C. beat last season’s Best-ish behemoths Bigo1 45-44 in the PL while S&G lost to fellow Quarter-Finalists BtB 35-44. Last week was the first time this season that Smash scored under 40; Reykjavik have had three weeks already where they scored under 30.
Goleta Hotspur and All Star Gunners are still third and fourth in the Championship and, like the game above, the team lower in the Best-ish rankings is on top after winning away. Goleta return to The Tokyo Express Arena this weekend having not beaten ASG in the two games so far this season.
This gameweek will be a nice short one starting in Cardiff (last season’s Championship runners-up) against Brighton (who were the runners-up from the season before) and it will finish on Sunday with the Manchester Derby. Last season, the away teams won both Manx derbies.
Enjoy.
