BFFA – GW28

EYE-CATCHING!

PREM: Bigo1 won and maintains a huge lead. Wicker reasserted its best of the rest status with direct head-to-head action, pegging back former-second place Santa Barbara with a 49-36 victory. In the bottom half, Smash, SB Town and Money all won, making the relegation picture as murky as ever. Sixth through ninth could all go down (Smash, 40; SB, 39; Money, 38; Vanishing, 36). Even fourth and fifth, East Loop on 43 and the Pad on 42, aren’t completely safe, despite simultaneously jousting for the Champions League spots.

-CHAMP: Reykjavik keep the pace brisk at the top, defeating Banana Swans 50-43, but the Unicorns maintain the 8-point gap, having pulled out the big guns against Granitza for a double-barreled 64-32 mow-down of the Sting. Despite drawing 48-48 with Goleta Hotspur, Bigger than Brolin maintains a firm grip on third, 5 back from Gene and 9 above Swans. And for any requiring a stern reminder of “sleep is the cousin of death,” the relegation picture has many contestants, so don’t sleep. As with the Prem, even fourth and fifth could get pulled into the vortex. Gunners defeated Cornballers 46-34, Branwellington beat Boss 41-34. Fourth through ninth now read: Swans, 41; Sting, 39; ASG, Branwellington and Boss Barkley level on 37; Goleta, 34. Someone’s leaving in tears.

LEAGUE 1: Cats are amongst the pigeons, pigeons are getting eaten whole, the scenes are graphic. There’s a fucking six-team title race, yo! Wijnaldum upset Relic 43-37, PSV beat Yer 65-55 and MFF beat QPR 56-40 making for massive change in the top half. New number-one PSV Wide Open leads the tier on 56 points, Wijnaldum second on 55, Relic now third on 54 points, ahead of MFF only by a slim 20 Bestish points. Chester gained on Yer Man despite a draw with Tiger Tail, the two level on 50 points, Yer ahead on Bestish. Both teams could still ride a string of runs to the top yet. Sexpats beat Fourth Place 47-27, but at 13 points off safety has some serious tantric work ahead.

LEAGUE 2: Tralfamadore Zoo beat Bony 45-40 and stays first with a sizable ten point lead. Yarbles squeaked past Globes in a tight 46-45, while DC LFC lost to Glentoran 45-58. Yarbles now occupies second, followed in the table by DC one point back, ten ahead of Mourinho-LO in fourth. Mourinho-LO drew with Gadagnome, while 57 gained the full three points over Tapped Up, putting the Routers now just two off the last Champions League berth, but still many points shy of promotion.
