EYE-CATCHING!
–PREM: Sporting drew 38-38 with Chucky Pad, GoFYS destroyed East Loop 65-22 and Bigo1 won, so BigoWon has all but wrapped up the league. No movement in the bottom half of the table, but with Smash & Grab, SB Town and Vanishing all losing and Money winning, it’s tight in spots six through nine (Smash with 34, SB Town and Vanishing on 33 and Money now up to 32). There’s fine margins and there’s super-foxy fine. One of the two applies.
-CHAMP: In the midweek marquee title bout, Unicorns beat BayCobblers 55-28 and Banana Swans defeated Bigger than Brolin, meaning Reykjavik leads by 3 points, with Gene 3 back and Brolin a further 3 back. Anyone heard of drawing the occasional match for a smidge of variety? I mean, sheesh. Anywho, Cornballers beat All Star Gunners in a tepid 34-32 throwdown (gentle placedown?), but likely remains too far back to reach safety by season’s end. But it’s not impossible…
–LEAGUE 1: Yer Man jousted with Chester and emerged from the medieval grounds with a thumping 60-25 victory. Wijnaldum Leviosa meanwhile beat Relic, PSV defeated QPR and MFF squeaked past 4th Place Trophy by a point. So, in a few words, the landscape has changed. PSV takes first, Chester slips to second, Leviosa occupies third, Relic down to fourth. All could change this weekend, however, with first through sixth seaparated by only 6 points. First and fourth, by only 2. Times is tight, y’all.
–LEAGUE 2: For the second week running, Tralfamadore won, while DC LFC and Yarbles lost to Tapped Up and Route 57, respectively. The Zoo has taken an even bigger step towards taking this tier, now 11 points ahead of DC. The wins from Mourinho-LO and 57 keep them in contention, but 11 points still separate third and fourth. There’s no relegation from League the Second, but if there were, Globes, Hung Like a Bony, Tapped Up and Glentoran would be right in the fight. This week, HLAB, TU and Glentoran FC each made their case, Glentoran’s win over Globes pulling the planetary ones into the vortex.
