We have lost both of our League Two representative’s in the Semi-Finals, so it is going to be another Premier League vs. Championship Final.
In the first game, ATC held out for a 9-point win, 10 points coming in from Mark Flekken for his 2-BP performance in the goalless draw with Chelsea. Flekken registered six saves during the game to keep Brentford’s clean sheet. Strand Larsen scored in his third consecutive game, but no other players managed more than three points.
Unfortunately for AI-JP, Arsenal weren’t as lucky as Brentford. After Lewis-Skelley wrapped an arm around Jack Harrison, (somewhat lightly) bringing him down in the box, Ndiaye was given a chance to equalise from the spot. He did so, sending Raya the wrong way, and it cost Saliba & White their clean sheet points. Verbruggen and Jiménez later came off the bench to drag AI-JP over the 20-point mark, but with nothing more than a point each.
Boudi’s Crew were a little unlucky to not be going to the Final after being knocked out by the only other side that scored better this gameweek, however, they shot themselves in the foot by trading out Brennan Johnson pre-game, only to see him hit a brace and relegate Southampton. Also, leaving Iwobi on the bench against one of the Premier League’s top defences – wasn’t such a good idea after all.
Harvey Barnes did the business for both teams, but the difference makers were Reece James and Joško Gvardiol, who both enjoyed maximum bonus points from their appearances in last weekend’s 0-0 draws, putting mighty Fine into yet another Final!
